Year of Release: 1990 / 1993
Notes: International compilation of Kiss covers, which originally was intended be released only in Australia, but Seattle label C/Z Records added few American bands and released an international version of this record.
First version came out in 1990 on Australian label Waterfront Records as a double LP on red vinyl
Second version came out in 1990 on Southern Records as a single LP
Third version came out on C/Z records – first in 1990 and then in 1993 (with a different cover), due to threats from Gene Simmons over the cover
“It was recorded at Evergreen State College in the spring of 1989. In 1993 when Kiss were planning Kiss My Ass, Gene threatened a “Cease & Desist” for the copyright violations, notably on the cover, of the original version. C/Z hastily reissued the album with the second cover, and a note on the inside that pleaded, “love ya Gene, baby, please don’t sue us”! The album was originally offered to Seattle label Sub Pop to distribute, but they passed on it. Has been reissued on a couple of occasions, so the album sleeves can vary (Single sleeve versus gatefold).” (Wikipedia)
