R.I.P. – Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse) – 1962-2010

Mark Linkous, leader of the band Sparklehorse died in Knoxville, TN on March 6th. He was 47 years old.

Linkous was the only permanent member of Sparklehorse  – the band that released such albums as “Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot”, “Good Morning Spider” and “It’s A Wonderful Life”. He also collaborated with numerous other musicians, including Tom Waits, Daniel Johnston, PJ Harvey and Danger Mouse.

Linkous death resulted in outpouring of tributes from the likes of Patti Smith, Steve Albini and Colin Greenwood (Radiohead).
