Athens PopFest is described as not only a “four-day rock festival” but also “an annual meeting of similarly-minded individuals and friends that care about the state of independent pop music, are excited by new bands and sounds, and desire to make new friends and rekindle friendships made at past festivals’. Past performers include Roky Erickson, Deerhoof and Daniel Johnston.

This year’s edition of the festival will take place at 40 Watt Club, Caledonia Lounge and Little Kings Shuffle Club between August 10 and 14. Some of the performers will include:
